First Round

The first round will be made up of 60 teams divided into groups of 5. Each group will play round-robin. Eight of the groups will be played at the home stadium of the top seed. All matches not featuring one of these 8 teams will be considered at a neutral site.

A bonus points system will operate with four points for a win, two for a draw, a bonus point for scoring four or more tries in a match and a bonus point for losing by seven points or fewer.
